The Ridenhour Prize for Truth-Telling was awarded to National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden and filmmaker/journalist Laura Poitras Wednesday. Speaking via video call to a packed room at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, Snowden and Poitras called for changes in how whistleblowing is viewed by the government. Among the high-profile attendees was former presidential candidate Ralph Nader, who criticized the lack of interest in the event by mainstream media outlets. RT's Sam Sacks attended the event and speaks to Lindsay France about the award.
